Telenor’s efforts for employees have been recognised by numerous awards by various organisations, and as such in 2003 we were awarded the Healthy Workplace title, and in 2004 we were recognised as an Investor in People, a title handed by the British organisation to companies that do the most for the training and development of their employees.

“Telenor is an extremely forward-thinking organisation that has highly-trained, effective and efficient employees, who are proud of their work and perform their tasks at an outstanding level. The organisation truly invests in the development of its employees, and the strong positive team spirit is perceptible among employees, who support one another and share experiences among themselves”.

This is how the assessment of the Investors in People award sums up the characterisation of Telenor as an organisation. The award is the most prestigious international recognition of the development of human resources, and one which in 2004 Telenor was the first to win in the Central Eastern European region.

The award itself is not a one-time accolade: it evaluates the work by Telenor and its HR organisation over several years and to hold on to the title, Telenor must subsequently also continuously comply with the requirements of the Investors in People standard.

Winning the award is evidence of the fact that new employees joining the Telenor team become part of a large corporation, where the most important factor – in spite of the fierce technological competition typical of the sector – is the person itself.
